The Society of Experimental Test Pilots’ Indian Section is preparing for its Election of Officers. We need volunteers and/or nominations for the following positions: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Treasurer. Per the Society’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), the position of Secretary may be added at the discretion of the Section.
A general description of each Officer’s duties is noted below.

An email ballot will be sent to your Section in July with results to be tallied in August.

General Section Officer Duties
Section Chairperson (Must be a Member, Associate Fellow or Fellow)
- Coordinate 4 educational meetings (joint meetings with other similar technical organizations are encouraged) during the term
- Select one individual to act as the Board of Directors Section Representative at monthly meetings via Zoom, typically 1-hour long meetings (Section Chair can assume this role if desired)
- Determine with the Section Treasurer what funding from SETP Headquarters, if any, will be required to operate the Section for the term in order to request Board of Directors approval for this in January
- Ensure the SETP Staff is updated on all Section activities so that mass emails can be sent about these from SETP Headquarters
Section Vice Chairperson (Open to all membership grades)
- Assist the Section Chairperson as needed with arranging educational meetings and any other tasks asked of the Chair
Section Treasurer (Open to all membership grades)
- Assist the Section Chairperson as needed with arranging educational meetings and any other tasks asked of the Chair
- Determine with the Section Chairperson what funding from SETP Headquarters, if any, will be required to operate the Section for the term in order to request Board of Directors approval for this in January
- Maintain the Section bank account as needed to utilize funds for Section activities in accordance with SETP’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Submit quarterly Section Treasurer reports that outline the Section’s bank account transactions, as requested by the SETP Staff so that these can be reviewed by the Board of Directors
Section Secretary (This role may be added at the discretion of the Section and is open to all membership grades)
- Assist the Section Chairperson as needed with arranging educational meetings and any other tasks asked of the Chair
