Navy Inducts 3 Indigenously-Built Advanced Light Helicopters

The Indian Navy inducted three ALH MK III helicopters at INS Dega, Visakhapatnam. They feature modern surveillance radar, electro-optical systems, and all-weather capabilities.

The Indian Navy inducted three Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH MK III) at INS Dega in Visakhapatnam. Manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, these indigenously-built aircraft feature modern surveillance radar and electro-optical systems for maritime reconnaissance and coastal security operations. The helicopters are equipped with advanced avionics enabling all-weather capabilities. Key features include long-range search and rescue functionality, heavy machine gun armament for constabulary missions, and a removable medical intensive care unit for airlifting critically ill patients.
